Home of the Sparrow is a transitional shelter program for women with children, single women and pregnant women who are homeless. The agency’s mission is to empower individuals and families to eliminate homelessness, joblessness, and hunger by teaching self-reliance, independence, and self-discipline.

WHO WE SERVE

Specific criteria must be met for those seeking to enter Home of the Sparrow shelters. The women must be:

Homeless
At least 18 years old
Female, single, pregnant, or a single female parent with children
Clean and sober for at least twelve months (if any previous substance abuse problem existed)
Maintaining healthy control of any persistent mental health symptoms
Willing to voluntarily agree to abide by the rules and regulations of Home of the Sparrow
Free from the threat of violence and/or any pending criminal complaints
